Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Katy Truss, an artisan food and drink specialist based in West Runton, North Norfolk. I grew up here and after time away at university and working in London for the BBC Good Food Show, I returned 10 years ago to start a family and my own business, Fabulous Food Finds. I seek out the finest, most interesting and exciting products and producers for my work as a food writer, presenter and curator of tasting boxes to share my finds with food lovers across the UK. I grew up in pubs and restaurants and really love the food industry; I regularly judge for prestigious awards like Great Taste, host a Tasting Theatre at the BBC Good Food Show and consult industry professionals looking to discover producers with fantastic products and stories.
What do you like about the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival?
I love the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival; it’s full of fantastic local producers and the street food offerings are spot on! There’s such a happy, relaxed, family-friendly vibe and it’s a great day out. The fact it’s free for visitors means they have more to spend with producers and makes it accessible for all.
What can we expect from you this year?
I’m delighted to be joining the festival on stage in the theatre. I’ll be sharing some of my latest finds and offering a guided tasting of some of the fantastic produce at the show too. I’ll share my top tips on how to taste, what makes a great product and also offer serving and recipe suggestions too.
Where can we find out more about you and what you do?
I have a website www.fabulousfoodfinds.co.uk and share lots from my instagram or facebook accounts, @fabulousfoodfinds. It would be great to connect with more foodies in Norfolk!
