Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Herbert Douglas Pizer, Executive Head Chef at The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market. I was born in South Africa where I spent most of my life. Cooking has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and I loved watching my grandmothers cook and bake their delicious dishes. I have worked as the Group Executive Chef for the Brazen Head franchise in South Africa, and as Executive Chef for the Helderfontein Estate. This is the first time that my fiancé and I have lived abroad and we find ourselves in North Norfolk. The people here are so friendly and the quality of local produce is out of this world!
What do you like about the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival?
It is an excellent showcase of all local suppliers, produce and culinary talent that North Norfolk has to offer – a tasty day out in a beautiful setting.
What can we expect from you this year?
A deliciously fresh and spicy local crab dish prepared with fresh handmade pasta : Cromer Crab Linguine with spring onion, lime, coriander and chilli
